CREDIT UNION’S NEW PLATINUM VISA CARD GIVES
MEMBERS MORE PURCHASING OPTIONS

New Visa program offers great rates, rewards and more
October 15, 2007

[MELBOURNE, FL] [DAYTONA, FL] – Space Coast Credit Union announced that it has expanded its credit card product family with the addition of a Platinum Visa® card that offers a points reward program. The rewards are earned through the Scorecard Rewards program which provides a generous 1 point for every dollar and offers a diverse catalog of products and travel where members can spend their earned points.

"We are responding to our members' needs for more choices for purchasing power," said Teresa Farnsworth, Space Coast Credit Union's Vice President of Card Services & Operations. "The new SCCU Platinum Visa card directly addresses the membership needs for more choices, better programs, low rates and meaningful rewards."

To encourage members to take advantage of this new program, the credit union is offering an introductory balance transfer rate of 5.99% APR to all new SCCU Visa cardholders, good for the first 6 billing cycles. "We're offering this low rate to benefit cardholders who transfer balances from other lenders cards and for those that use the card during the introductory period." said Farnsworth.

After the introductory rate expires the new Platinum card offers a unique rate structure which adjusts the on-going rate according to the member’s credit score. "Here's where we are different," says Farnsworth, "most credit card companies will automatically increase your rate if your credit score goes down but to get a better rate if your score improves, you have to ask for it." Adding, "We automatically lower your rate if your credit score improves." On-going rates are as low as 9.99% APR which is an excellent option in the current market and is lower than the national average card according to Bankrate.com as of October 5, 2007.

The Scorecard Rewards program was first offered to SCCU members through their Visa Debit Cards earlier in 2007. The initial response to Scorecard has been positive. "Offering the Scorecard Rewards program through our new SCCU Platinum Visa card was a natural extension of the services we offer to our members," said Farnsworth. "We are always reviewing and responding to our members' needs and they demonstrated a strong desire for a merchandise and travel program in addition to our existing credit card rewards."

The new SCCU Platinum Visa is available to existing members and prospective members alike. Those living or working in Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Osceola and Volusia Counties; as well as in Sanford, Lake Mary and Longwood are eligible to join SCCU.
