The Educational Assistance Program
As evidence of its commitment to academic
achievement and professional development, SCCU assists
employees with the cost of either undergraduate or
graduate degrees offered at an accredited college
or university. Degree programs must be applicable
to the financial services industry. SCCU will reimburse employees
for approved educational expenses up to a maximum of $5,250 per
plan year based on the individual grade received for each course
successfully completed. This generous benefit is available
to new and current employees without any waiting period to enroll!
Online/E-Learning professional development courses
SCCU offers all employees career development through convenient
online courses as a part of our E-Learning System. Topics include
business, leadership and credit union related coursework.
Product and Technical Training:
SCCU has developed the most comprehensive training program in the
industry for new Branch Member Service Specialists (MSS). The
program content includes teller platform and systems training,
sales and cross selling, customer service, product knowledge, on-the-job
training, and homework. The 12-week program has been designed
to equip individuals with some previous customer service experience
to be able to meet the needs of our members in a branch environment. The
Telephone Sales Representative training gives new employees the
opportunity to learn the products and techniques of phone sales
while steadily building their capacity to respond to increasing
numbers of calls. The SCCU Training Staff all have served
as Member Service Specialists or Call Center Associates prior to
moving into the Training function.
Individual Career Development Assessments
SCCU can help employees choose the most effective career path through
individual career development and coaching.
SCCU has designed programs for individuals who are motivated to
continually grow in their field to complete a course of study which
will earn them a certification. The Certification programs
are rigorous, self-paced curriculum that incorporates both active
classroom and convenient E-Learning opportunities. The flexible,
comprehensive business and credit union curriculum allows participants
to effectively balance work, family and professional development.
