PHISHING SCAM: Emails Claiming to be from NACHA

SCCU has received notification of a widespread ongoing email phishing scam posing as NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association).

These fraudulent emails typically make reference to an ACH transfer, payment, or transaction. A recent fraudulent email example notifies direct deposit recipients of a supposedly “declined” direct deposit payment, and attempts to trick recipients into clicking a link that allows hackers access to sensitive information stored on their computers. Clicking on this link will install malware on the computer, which is a common practice for fraudsters to steal online banking credentials, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information.

If you receive this email, DO NOT RESPOND or click on any of the links in the email. Suspicious emails that appear to originate from NACHA may be reported to abuse@nacha.org.

If you ever have a question concerning your account, or believe a message you received claiming to be from the credit union is fraudulent, contact SCCU directly using the number for your geographical area below:

Please remember that Space Coast Credit Union, the NCUA, CUNA, CUNA Mutual, or any other organization pertaining to credit unions, WILL NOT e-mail, text message, or telephone our members asking for personal information such as complete social security numbers, account numbers, dates of birth, etc.
