Safe Banking Over the Internet With the Internet expanding, and to keep pace with consumer demands, more financial institutions are using the Web to offer products and services. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) offers some safety tips and information that can help you avoid costly surprises or scams. Access their site at: http://www.ncua.gov. Select Reference Information, and then click on the link titled, "Tips to Safely Conduct Financial Transactions Over the Internet."

Top Fraud Tips
- Make sure SCCU has your current contact information, including daytime phone number. To verify your information, log on to Online Banking. Click on the “Additional Services” tab. Open the “Personal Information” box. Make any updates and submit.
- NEVER respond to emails, phone calls, or text messages asking for account numbers or other personal information.
- Do not put your Social Security or Driver’s License number on your checks.
- Eliminate personal information from your mailbox by cancelling your paper statements. Log on to Online Banking
- Always review your monthly statements. Report any suspicious charges or activity. View statements online
