Money Sense
Take One Step
What financial pressures are affecting you right now? Most of us have a mental list of financial “action items” we want to accomplish, but the days slip by and they don’t get done.
As the old saying goes, the journey starts with one step. Pick one thing that would make a difference and write it down, along with a date by which you’ll get it done. You can start small! Little steps add up to a big difference.
Here are a few action items to consider:
- Open a Christmas Club account now. You may feel like you don’t have a penny to spare, but just $5 gets you started on a stress-less holiday.
- Take $100 and open an IRA Savings Account. Make small deposits until you have enough money to open an IRA CD or start an investment plan.
- Make an appointment to meet with a CFS* financial advisor at SCCU and review your 401(k) plan – a free member service!
- Make an appointment to meet with an SCCU mortgage loan officer and make sure your current 1st and 2nd mortgages make sense for your life now. Most Floridians have been hit with higher taxes and insurance costs, and you may want to update your mortgage situation to make your payments more affordable.
