It was amazing how after being with SCCU for 18 years, having many auto loans, HELOC's and home mortgage, I applied on my own and was turned down. BUT a dealer does the processing and low and behold I get approved!! SIMPLY AMAZING. I guess customer/member loyalty DOESN'T matter. More worried about becoming the largest Credit Union than taking care of the customer/member. I am seriously considering MY loyalty to SCCU.

Lately, I'm getting the feeling that SCCU has out grown the "home town bank appeal" and becoming just another "Big Bank", hopefully not.

I hate paperwork. I was amazed how unbelievably easy it was to buy my new car. Dealership and SCCU did everything. I just told the dealership I had a SCCU account and wanted them to check your rates (which was quite a bit lower than the Bank of America rate that the dealership provided as an option). The new auto loan account automatically appeared on the SCCU website as an account along with my existing SCCU account (I do everything online). The auto loan was automatically set up up as auto withdrawal from my existing account. I literally had to do nothing but sign my name.

Offer additional services along with the loan. Take down that 12" thick glass, so you can talk with the inside teller. Insure the tellers are familar with your OTHER products and accounts besides the auto loan. MOST IMORTANT, let me make my payment for ANY source that I want. The auto xfer from a savings account that I'll never use makes no sense! A simple xfer from Riverside took 4 days! It was debited from Riverside on Day 1, but took all week to reach you. Gotta speed this up!

I was offered a "used car" rate but the car was brand new, just a 2007. so I really had a hard time accepting this higher rate when my "New" car had never been titled or tagged...Not categorizing the age of the car with the assumption it is a used car vs. a new car.

Give dealerships the ability to ask if you want payments from savings or checking. Very inconvenient to have it set up to savings and have to either go to branch to change or write a letter to SCCU indicating payment from checking. Dealers should be able to handle this option, as they do fine with redeeming the rebate points.

Staff at SCCU have been very friendly and knowledgable. A out-of-state relative recently ran into a problem while closing on property in Florida. SCCU was able to open up a new account for them based on our account record and basically "came to their rescue" so they could complete their closing. Have nothing negative to say about them.

I originally asked the car dealership to set me up with a lender offering the lowest interest rate. When we got to closing, I was surprised to see that the lender charged a $100 application fee. Being an existing customer of SCCU, you did not charge me an application fee. You did not have the lowest interest rate, but it was much more convenient for me to borrow through you than any other lender. It's also more convenient for me to make my mothly payments by one click transfer from my checking account to my auto loan account. The slightly higer interest rate is a small price to pay for the convenience!

Even though I was going through the dealer to apply for the loan, Sccu answered all my questions and gave me some great suggestions on how to get the best deal and how to avoid "hidden fees". Because of using SCCU, I was able to get Sccu's low rates and I didn't have to pay any dealer fees for the loan, because the knew I could just go to the bank for the loan. However, doing all the work at one stop was more convenient. I would definitely reccommend Sccu to family/friends. I really appreciated the help from Sccu, even though they knew I would be applying for loan through the dealer.

I am always impressed with the way my business is handled at SCCU. That's why I was very ready to get my car loan through SCCU and away from the bank I had previously. I know how easy everything is at SCCU! The reps are ALWAYS courteous, and it feels more like calling over to a friends house, than calling a business. There was a little confusion with my loan amount, and when I phoned to get clarification, the rep was very friendly, and knowledgable. You can always hear when someone talks on the phone with a smile. I guess working at SCCU must be a great thing, because the reps always sound so happy to take your call! Thanks.

the delaship made us wait a long time for the finance person which time they used to pressure us to buy unnecessary extras. I wish a SCCU rep. had been there as we are good customers (platinum level)
