Everyone I contacted at SCCU was super especialy the person that I talked to apply for the Auto loan he instructed me in exactly how to deal with the auto dealers in my best interest had I not followed his advice I may have paid more. I know that the dealers main goal is to make a profit and my main goal is to save money and due to the advise I recieved that is what i did. The dealers tried to talk us [my wife and i] into doing otherwise but we followed the advise of our SCCU personal even though it kind of angered the dealers somewhat. WE feel that we got a good deal and a great vehicle thanks to the advice of SCCU.

I wasn't satisfied at all to say the least. I felt I was miss informed from the very beginning. The loan person should be well informed and more considerate to the customer needs. Especially when buying for the first time. Once I found the right car and got approved then post approved which was utterly ridiculous, to the bank I went and was explained one thing there and called the loan officer back on the 800 line and told something different and that was the icing on the cake for me. The story would change the price would change and the people are all not on the same page regarding the whole process and that was from the very beginning. Told one thing then told another.and now I do not have an extended warranty because of that confusion. Everyone was friendly for the most part.

The fact that you need to see the vehicle first hand was very troubling. I had to have the owner drive from Orlando so you could "see" the vehicle and then I had to have it registered before releasing the funds to the seller. This long way too long and really incovenienced the seller as well as myself. It was a great rate but not worth the hassle. I very well could have lost my deal with the seller. Luckily I did not.

The entire loan process was simple, from the phone application to the closing of the loan. Chris, my loan application contact, was extremely knowledgeable and even suggested refinancing another car loan I had with a lower rate from SCCU. The young lady who closed our loan was extremely friendly and efficient. I could not have had better service anywhere.

I set an appointment to sign for the loan and was told I could go to any branch until 4:45 pm. I called back to Jennifer and left a message on her voice mail that I wanted to do it at the Indian Harbour Beach branch on Monday at 4:45. We arrived at 4:45 only to find the doors locked and after pounding on the window, an employee finally came over and let us in. She told us she didn't know about the appointment, there wasn't anything on the calendar but to come on in, as "this happens all the time". So, we sat and waited about 10 mins while someone pulled up all of the papers. I was never informed that I needed to provide proof of insurance at the time of closing. Never having done a loan for an auto, I was completely naive and under the impression that I could get the insurance that evening while phoning from my home. Wrong! I had to call around and finally just took the first quote that I got so that I could get the loan and get out of the bank. The seller had come a great distance so there wasn't the alternative of coming back on another day. One hour and thirty minutes later, we were finally finished. I was told that someone from SCCU would contact me about the title and car tag paperwork. That too, never happened. After waiting for 30 days, I called the number on my letter from SCCU and asked for someone to call me back. I received a return call the next day, saying that SCCU had tried to contact me on 9/21 but that my voice mail wasn't set up. Completely false. My voice mail has been operational all along. I have never received a phone call or message. You only call the client one time and then give up? How about contacting me at my work? Or how about sending me an email? The day after my loan closing, Tues 8/25, I called the processing dept. and left a message for Jennifer to call me because I wanted to let her know that the branch office didn't know about the appointment as I explained above. I was told that she no longer worked for SCCU but that the other Jennifer would call me back. I never heard from her either. As far as I am concerned, SCCU gets a failing grade in communication and follow-up. I don't care if Jennifer quit on a Friday and no one knewabout her schedule or appts. There are plenty of institutions out there that would like to lend me money. When it comes to business, I will always be loyal to those who remember me and treat me as a valued client whether I have $400 or $40,000 in my account. When it comes to shopping for my next mortgage, SCCU will not be on my list of institutions to check out.

Getting my auto loan with SCCU was the saving grace to a horrible experience with Cocoa Hyundai. The dealership almost succeeded at pulling a dirty trick on me, but SCCU literally rescued me. I was in tears with the loan dept., & they completely turned my day around. Cocoa Hyundai insisted they were saving me time, phone calls, & trouble by sending SCCU all of the information needed to put my purchase in place with the pre-approved loan I had already set up. They almost got away with charging me double the gap insurance. They insisted they have a "direct line" with SCCU. I found out not so much, & they had not faxed the required Buyer's Order to tell SCCU I bought the car. Do yourself a huge favor by using SCCU for your auto loan, & staying away from Cocoa Hyundai! (My experience with the dealership was even worse than I have room to write here.)

I bought a car over the phone that was located in Texas. I called in the morning, negotiated a fair price then called SCCU for help to shore up the loan. They called the dealer and affirmed my commitment to purchase the car. By 4:30pm that afternoon, Steve had all the papers and checks ready to be signed and received. All I can say is I was amazed at how well everything went and I am completely satisfied in how everyone at the SCCU that interfaced with me on this issue, was courteous and showed top-notch professionalism.

After being a member of SCCU for a number of years we recently moved to Vermont. I missed the personal "hometown" service of SCCU. When it came time for a new auto loan, I contacted SCCU and found that I could still have my auto loan taken care of by them. With no branch for some 1500 miles we had to complete the paperwork via US Mail and fax but I can't say it took much longer than it would have from a local bank here. All involved at SCCU were more than helpful and stayed right on top of getting the paperwork and most importantly, the check taken care of very promptly. Thanks again SCCU.... it's good to be back! And the new car is awesome!

Toyota was purchased in 2007 at those current rates. At teller window while paying on loan, the teller noticed my interest rate was high and recommended that I contact a loan officer and refinance. I did, thanks to "her" observation. Now that is "service with a smile" :) Thank you.

The personnel at the SCCU Titusville branch were extreamly helpful. It took no more than 15-20 minutes to complete the transaction. Made it clearer that I would have to go to the SCCU branch to close the loan & pick up the draft. I waited at the car dealer for 2 hrs (lunch time) before the loan officer clarified that I needed to go to the branch. It would be nice if there was some way to avoid 2 trips to the dealership (one trip to close the deal on the car & one trip to bring them the draft after I signed the loan papers at SCCU).

They are not professional. Made sure that my address was changed as requested and ask for auto insurance documentation prior. The cards I was asked to bring in did not help the situation. I was mailed several letters to the wrong address stating I needed proof of insurance, when I provided proof at closing. Not to mention I changed my address on the phone when I did the loan, when I came in person to close the loan only to find out that my address was never changed until I opened my checking account over a month later. So, how many SCCU Rep's do you have to go through in order to update your address?

The girl at the PSJ branch who handled our closing was very nice and seemed genuinely excited for us and our new truck, but the employee who took our application misled us into believing we could only recieve our rebate points if we applied at the credit union and not at the dealership. This caused us to have to wait till Monday to purchase our vehicle instead of taking it home on Saturday. The dealer informed us he could have gotten us our points when we signed the papers. Also We told the SCCU employee who took our application 2 times we did not want/ need gap insurance (we put about 40% down) but it was there when we went to closing and we had to wait for the paperwork to be redone. While the delays did not cause us to miss out on buying our chosen vehicles they were disappointing because of having to wait out the weekend to bring it home.

Despite the fact that I have had 6 prior auto loans with SCCU I was given only an average interest rate, and I had to argue to get that. The customer rep originally quoted me one rate then raised the rate as I was ready to finalize the paperwork. I almost canceled my application before they finally lowered back to the original quote.

This loan took 3 months to finalize! Comedy of errors and misinformation. I was unable to drive my new car for the last month because temporary tags had run out. Check to pay for tags and title made out to tag office, was too much money, and the tag office didn't give refunds. I'm pretty unhappy right now.

This was an easy, fast, wonderful process to deal with the SCCU associate (his name was Chris, I think) and the loan processor who assisted. The rate I received was 4.74% and was far better than the Bank of America rate of 6.99% or the CarMax rate of 6.95 %. This was an easy cost-saving experience. I am so glad to be an SCCU member for more than 25 years!

Just coming in and asking for a lower rate that may be available on my existing loan [started 6 mo. ago], and then being given a 1% reduction in my interest rate with no questions, no hesitations, no hassels and no "hidden charges or fees", was not only refreshing, but also amazing! Gina explained I could do the whole deal with one phone call, and then come in and sign the papers. It was the easiest bank or credit transaction I think I have ever experienced. Gina, and the person on the phone [sorry I don't have the name] were great!

I enjoy the services provided at SCCU & the employees are always helpful, albeit not always as knowledgeable as they should be. Also, I have asked repeatedly why I do not get notices of maturity for my CD's. The only answer I get is that they have my address correct. There is a breakdown somewhere in the communication throughout your organization.

We found the car we wanted and called the auto loan department in Melbourne,right away. The loan officer advised us that we were pre-approved for the loan amount we needed. As soon as the dealership faxed the paperwork to SCCU, our loan officer took care of everything. All we had to do was sign the paperwork at the SCCU of our choice. The whole process was hassel free. The process was extremely simply. Keep up the good work. The only thing I would recommend is to acknowledge the people coming into the customer service area to sign loan papers so they know the correct person will be with them shortly.I had to wait 10 minutes before the person at the desk who was talking to a customer about their children acknowledged me standing and said I would have to get in line that she was not from that department and could not help me. That was the only frustrating part. All in all everything else was great.

I and the seller was outraged to find out that he had to allow me to register the vehicle in my name before receiving a check from the bank. In fact, the registration office clerk said that was illegal. I should not be able to register a vehicle and take title for a vehicle I did not pay for. You should talk to Americu Bank in NEW YORK... they got a VERY SATISFIED rating for the same type of service and I purchased the vehicle from Florida too.

I purchased my car at the annual members only auto sale with enterprise. The financing process took less time than the test drive. In fact, the paperwork for the financing was available before Enterprise finished their paperwork. Completely painless operation. I have already recommended to my son and he will be refinancing his car on the much lower rate than he is getting now.

Kelley Ford's finance department did not understand how the program worked and had to make several calls to Space Coast Credit Union before they would close on my loan. Maybe SCCU could provide information to dealerships on rewards programs to help streamline the loan process?

I was able to purchase my car without the horrid interest rates the dealers require and was treated very professionally. A second loan rep did not "pass the buck" and was able to pick up where the first loan rep left off. That impressed both myself and my husband. It's rare to see people picking up the ball these days.

The office I used in Sabastian is new and personnel are learning, the on-line application worked well but could be taken a step further by having the check waiting at the bank for pickup. I think past "track records" on previous loans should give lower interest rates.

I'm retired from the USCG and currently reside in central Florida. Loan application, approval, and processing was done at the speed of light, over the phone. To my greatest surprise, the interest rate was suppose to be 6.24% and you were able to lowered to 4.99%. The best rate for a used car loan!!!!

SCCU’s auto rates were not the main reason why I use SCCU as my lender…It was the personnel at the branch on Barns Boulevard. They took the extra step to ensure I understood ever aspect of my loan process; I explained to the teller the type of car I needed for my wife and she ask the manager to personally take care of me. After all my concerns where addressed she put me on the phone and the young man on the other end took care of the rest. Thank you

When my dealer called me and informed me of the trade in he had just recieved with the exact equiptment that as a disabled person like myself needed.
