SCCU has received information about a fraudulent email that includes SCCU’s routing number. Please note that routing numbers for financial institutions are readily available and can easily be included in a fraudulent email in an attempt to make it look more authentic.
This email was received by someone who does not belong to SCCU. It is a typical spam communication that refers to the name of a legitimate company and is sent to many recipients in the hope of being received by an actual customer of the company.
This email was attempting to obtain account information so a generous, but of course secret, "deposit" could be made to the account.
The subject line of this email is shown below for your reference. It is typical of many spam communications. Simple delete them if received; never respond.
